CFMOTO has released a brand new 500cc UTV for 2009, the “500-3”. This will be the rst UTV that CFMOTO has built and released for the US marketplace. Either for work or for play, the 500-3 boasts some very impressive features. The CFMOTO 500-3 features a carbureted 488cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke motor. The four valve, OHC, single cylinder power plant features a bore and stroke of 87.5mm x 82mm, producing an amazing 38 horsepower and top speed of 46 miles per hour. The fully automatic CVT transmission features dynamic engine braking with Low, High, Neutral and Reverse gears. An all aluminum high mounted radiator keeps everything cool. The 500-3 is delivered stock with driver and passenger doors for added safety. Bucket seats as well as driver and passenger seat belts are included. AM/FM/MP3, three speaker, stereo system is also part of the stock package. Fuel and temperature gauges can be found at the center console along with a 12V accessory power plug. The locking glove box is where the winch controls are kept for the 2500 lb. winch, which is included complimentary with the 500-3. The tilt bed can carry a payload of 330 lbs. and has tilt-release handles located on both left and right sides for easy operation. Towing capacity is a hefty 1100 lbs. The front suspension features dual “A” arm type, as well as independent suspension in the rear. The 500-3 has heavy duty CV axles with a shaft diameter of 23mm and a locking front 4WD differential. Front and rear shocks are nitrogen gas charged and front suspension travel is 7.8” and rear suspension travel is 8.5”. Hydraulic front and rear disc brakes tame the beast to a standstill. A weather proof all-in-one switch allows electronic switching from 2WD/4WD/Diff Lock. The stock unit comes with 12” aluminum wheels including painted black inlays, 25x8R12 Ancla front tires and 25x10R12 Ancla aggressive tread pattern tires in the rear. The suspension system provides an exceptional 10.2 inches of ground clearance. The 500-3 encompasses a 7.1 gallon fuel tank, which is located under the passenger seat. Fuel economy is 18-20 MPG with a range of about 150 miles. Standard stocking color options are Black, Red, Silver, Yellow, Blue and Green. Camo age color package is offered with black painted steel wheels for an additional price. Available accessories from the manufacturer include a canopy top and full windshield option. Aftermarket accessories are being developed by Cycle Country. Already in production are accessories such as: Safari racks, tail gate extender, Baja light bar, spare tire rack and snow plow mounts and blades. All accessories will be available shortly. Lastly the CFMOTO 500-3 have C.A.R.B. approvals, which means it is available for the California market as well as all other 49 US states.
